At least 18 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza overnight, according to healthcare sources.

In two attacks in the city of Dayr al-Balah, two women and their four children were killed, according to al-Aqsa Martyrs' Hospital, which received the bodies.

A further 12 people were killed in two attacks in the city of Khan Yunis, according to a hospital there.

Israel has initially not commented on the reports, but the country claims that the military is only targeting individuals who belong to militant groups. Israel accuses them of hiding among civilians in shelters and refugee camps for people on the run.
