17 people were killed in an attack on the village of Yoe Ngu in Rakhine state, the armed opposition group the Arakan Army said on Tuesday.
The bodies were scattered across the area, said Pyae Phyo Naing, chairman of the civilian volunteer group Ponnagyun Youths.
Myanmar's military junta regularly carries out deadly attacks on civilians, often via airstrikes and drones. Since the 2021 military coup, the country's junta has caused thousands of civilian deaths, according to the human rights organization Fortify Rights.
