Åslund, 38, played his 800th league match for Färjestad on Thursday against HV71 away.
He then made a comeback after a little over a month's absence due to a tough concussion that made the future uncertain.
Before the rivalry match against Frölunda at home, Åslund was hailed by a sold-out arena, 8,250 spectators.
He thanked the tribute by scoring the leading goal.
A goal he called "magical". About the tribute, he says:
I'm extremely moved, there are many thoughts going around in my head. I'm incredibly proud of my family in the stands, he says to TV4 Play
Frölunda equalized through Noah Dower Nilsson.
Färjestad pulled away with two goals within 21 seconds in the second period.
Åslund was involved in the 2–1 goal when he screened Frölunda goalkeeper Lasse Johansson, who didn't see Joakim Nygård's full hit.
Defender Joel Nyström then shot 3–1, and in the third period, Marian Studenic made it 4–1.
But Frölunda rallied, scoring two goals in numerical superiority through Filip Cederqvist and Henrik Tömmernes.
The end was dramatic, but Åslund's team held on.
Färjestad is shadowing league-leading Brynäs and is two points behind.
