Asia's leading stock exchanges began the week's final trading day in a situation where investors' tariff enthusiasm appears to continue to dwindle.
In Tokyo, the important Nikkei 225 had lost 0.3 percent while the broader Topix index fell 0.2 percent.
Hong Kong did not do much to lighten the mood when the Hang Seng index contracted by 0.9 percent.
It was also gloomy in Shanghai, whose composite index sank 0.5 percent. The composite index in Shenzhen went against the stream and added 0.3.
It was also cautiously cheerful in South Korea, the Kospi index was up 0.1 percent after a few hours of trading.
