The stock exchanges in China, which have been closed for five days, began Tuesday's trading on a plus note in a situation where they are pleased with signs that the trade war between Beijing and Washington may ease, and domestic consumption is demonstrating resilience.
In the composite index in Shanghai and Shenzhen, an increase of 0.9 and 1.5 percent, respectively, was noted at lunchtime.
It was also cheerful in Hong Kong, where the Hang Seng rose 0.5 percent.
Even in South Korea, it was cautiously optimistic when the Kospi index grew by 0.1 percent.
In Japan, the stock exchanges are closed due to a holiday.
