The leading Asian stock exchanges largely pointed upwards after the US President Donald Trump announced overnight on Wednesday that the US had reached an agreement on a trade deal with a "big" country, an agreement that will be presented later during the day.
The composite index in Shanghai and Shenzhen had increased by 0.1% and 0.7%, respectively, by lunchtime.
It was also cheerful in Hong Kong as the Hang Seng grew by 1%.
The lukewarm spring breezes were also felt in South Korea, where the Kospi increased by 0.3%.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 climbed 0.2% while the Topix index went against the trend and lost 0.2%.
