It is the Nordic Asa-society that has taken the initiative to the grave site, which will be located by Nyeds church in the Värmland Molkom. Previously, the county administrative board has given clearance and now the building permit is also granted, reports NWT.
The grave site will, according to previous information, be designed as three earth mounds intended for urns. It will be established just outside the existing cemetery, that is, not in consecrated ground.
"It feels in the heart that we can now offer our members a final resting place in harmony with our faith. A place where we get to rest under the gaze of our own gods and not under foreign symbols. It is an important step for freedom of religion in practice", says Thommy Vähäsalo, responsible for national blot, in a comment on the association's website.
The Nordic Asa-society was founded in 2014 and has been a registered faith community since 2016.
