"The civilians crossed the border and continued several hundred meters into Syria," the military wrote in a statement.
Israeli soldiers in the area intervened and brought the Israeli citizens back to Israel. The individuals were then handed over to the police.
The military "condemns the incident" as a "crime that endangers civilians and Israeli soldiers."
Israel's public service broadcaster Kan is broadcasting videos on social media showing activists from an Israeli settler group barricading themselves on a rooftop on the outskirts of a Syrian village on Mount Hermon, AFP reports.
The group in question has previously made incursions into Syria several times.
