The decision to withdraw from WHO was made by the country's president, right-wing politician and Trump supporter Javier Milei, already in February. A few weeks earlier, his American colleague Donald Trump had made the same decision.
The Argentine government has previously accused WHO of "catastrophic" handling of the covid pandemic and "caveman-like quarantine rules".
In a statement after the ratification decision, it is claimed that WHO does not function because the operation "does not build on science but on political interests and bureaucratic structures that refuse to acknowledge their own mistakes".
During the visit, Robert F Kennedy will meet his Argentine colleague Mario Lugones to discuss a "common agenda" intended to strengthen the transparency and trust in healthcare systems. He will also meet Milei.
Controversial Kennedy is often accused of fuelling conspiracy theories and has, without evidence, claimed that vaccines can cause autism. In a recorded video greeting to WHO's general assembly last week, he urged more countries to withdraw from the world health organization, whose work Kennedy claims is heavily influenced by China and pharmaceutical giants.
