The lawsuit was filed on Friday in a federal court in Northern California, several media outlets report.
According to the lawsuit, Tang Tan, who is head of hardware at OpenAI, encouraged Apple employees applying for jobs to share trade secrets, including by bringing hardware with them. Tang Tan is a former vice president at Apple, Bloomberg writes.
Apple is now demanding, among other things, damages and a court order prohibiting OpenAI from using Apple's trade secrets.
OpenAI has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
