After last year's 14th place in the World Cup, this year's European Championships were not a success for Sweden either.
Despite four opening victories in Malmö, Sweden missed the semi-finals after losing to Iceland and drawing with Hungary in the intermediate round.
We lost one game and that was enough. But if we had gone to Herning to play the semi-finals, I think we would have had the chance to beat every team, says Michael Apelgren after finishing the intermediate round with an insignificant victory (34–21) against Switzerland on Wednesday evening.
It's clear that you have a lump in your stomach and are very disappointed.
