"The investigation is at an intensive stage. Another person has been detained and a number of house searches have taken place. I will therefore not be able to comment on the investigation in more detail," says Public Prosecutor Carl Mellberg in a press release from the Swedish Prosecution Authority.
The detainee is suspected of crimes committed between June 10, 2025 and May 5 of this year in Sweden.
Another person has been arrested in the case and, according to reports, is also suspected of serious sanctions violations.
The investigation is at a sensitive stage, says Säpo's press spokesperson Gabriel Wernstedt.
Both people have connections to the same case, he continues.
Säpo does not want to comment on the matter in more detail to TT.
"It's a sensitive situation. That's why we're not releasing information about the crime classification or other circumstances," says Wernstedt.
He does not want to state whether the suspects are Swedish citizens.
We won't go into that.
A serious sanction violation means someone knowingly violates international sanctions, such as trading in military equipment. The crime can result in imprisonment for up to six years.
