Håkan Nesser was initially denied early release and kept in shackles because the Social Welfare Service believes he lives in isolation and has no employment outside the home. However, the case was reopened after media attention last week.
A new announcement was expected from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service in the past few days, but the case has now been moved to another unit and is being reprocessed, which is delaying the decision, according to Johannes Nesser.
Håkan Nesser was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison for three counts of aggravated tax evasion.
TT has sought comment from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
