Italy, Spain and several other countries have demanded sanctions against Ben-Gvir after the minister posted a film in which he mocks kneeling activists.
A formal EU proposal has already been in place since last fall for an entry ban and asset freezes for Ben-Gvir and one of his colleagues.
The Swedish government also hopes for increased support for the sanctions that Sweden and France have jointly put forward, proposing heavy tariffs on goods from Israeli settlements.
"It has already changed the dynamics, and we are seeing that the Swedish-French initiative we took a couple of weeks ago is gaining broader support. More and more countries have had enough," says Foreign Trade Minister Benjamin Dousa (M) in Brussels.
