Adam Alsing passed away at just 51 years old due to covid-19. In an interview with Femina, Anette Alsing is now telling for the first time about the tough years. Adam Alsing was afflicted with high fever, cough, and cold symptoms. The symptoms worsened, and one day when she came home, he had called the ambulance.

I wanted to say that I loved him, but I didn't dare because I thought it was a bad omen. 'Then maybe he'll think I think he's going to disappear'. So neither of us said anything, we just looked at each other, says Anette Alsing in the interview.

No relative was allowed to accompany him to the hospital, and Anette Alsing describes the terrible wait. After a week and a half, when Adam Alsing was on a respirator, his condition improved. Then the hospital suddenly called and told the family to come in immediately. Once there, Anette Alsing understood that her husband was dead.

We were dressed like aliens and weren't allowed to touch him, but I took off my gloves anyway and laid my head against his hand.

Anette Alsing was long-term sick-listed from work and is today active on the board of the foundation "Adam Alsing's Memory". After five tough years, she says she has finally been able to start living normally again.

I've had an incredibly good life with Adam and with the sons, but I've landed in the understanding that it's okay to try to find a new way to live, she says to Femina.
