A doctor who was responsible for anesthetizing patients before plastic surgery operations at a clinic in Malmö exposed patients to significant medical risks, according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's disciplinary committee.
The doctor is now being stripped of their license, reports P4 Malmöhus. In one of the reviewed cases, a woman died in connection with an operation.
The doctor did not take into account the patients' weight and health status when dosing medication. Monitoring equipment was largely lacking, and the doctor did not have medical control over the anesthetized patients. The doctor says they will appeal the decision.
Following the death, an investigation into manslaughter has been initiated.
