At least one American bomber of the type B-1B flew on Thursday near Venezuela's coast, shows information from the site Flightradar 24. It is the second similar demonstration of strength from the USA in recent times.

For just over a week ago, two American B-52s circled outside Venezuela's coast for several hours.

On a question about Thursday's event, Trump replied that the information is "false", but added that the US is "dissatisfied with Venezuela for several different reasons".

The tensions between the US and Venezuela have escalated since the US has carried out a number of deadly attacks in recent months, including in the Caribbean Sea, against boats that are alleged to be transporting narcotics.

At the same time, President Donald Trump recently gave the intelligence agency CIA the go-ahead to carry out secret operations within Venezuela. He also stated that he is considering ground attacks against drug cartels.

Caracas accuses the US of actually planning to overthrow President Nicolás Maduro.

We know that the CIA is present (in Venezuela), says Venezuela's Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino on Thursday.

They may use, I do not know how many CIA-affiliated units in secret operations – every attempt will fail.
