Ali Abbasi's Trump film "The Apprentice" has a chance to be awarded a prize at the French César Awards. According to Le Monde, the film has been nominated in the category of best foreign film.
"The Apprentice" is competing against, among others, Sean Baker's "Anora", "The Fruits of the Holy Tree" by Sweden-actual Mohammad Rasoulof and Oscar winner "The Zone of Interest" by Jonathan Glazer.
The French film "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière received the most nominations for the French film gala with 14. Also doing well is Jacques Audiard's "Emilia Pérez" which has 12 nominations.
The César Awards, which is France's equivalent to the Guldbagge Awards, will be held on February 28 and is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
