The day after party leader Simona Mohamsson announced that the party would allow the Sweden Democrats to join a future government, Bard wrote on X that he had now joined L.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, Simona Mohamsson, for making this possible. Now we will make sure together that the party unites behind you," Bard wrote.
In 2024, Bard joined Jan Emanuel's People's List party, which failed in the EU elections and was subsequently closed down.
Bard has previously been a member of the People's Party, the Center Party, the Pirate Party and the Civic Coalition, for which he ran in parliamentary elections. He also briefly joined the Liberal Party, which he left after making a statement about the Black Lives Matter movement that was criticized.
