According to Kalla fakta, Åkesson has made a private deal - an arrangement that increased the turnover of his own company by 1.7 million kronor.
Åkesson confirms to journalists, in connection with the party leadership debate in the Riksdag, that he wrote the book "The Modern People's Home" at his own private publishing house ahead of the 2018 election and that the party then bought "a fairly large edition" of the book from his publisher.
"Then it is interspersed with made-up numbers," Åkesson says, accusing Kalla Fakta of being a frivolous editorial office.
The SD leader calls the whole thing a concoction of things that are true, things that are not true, and pure fabrications.
The arrangement between the party and Åkesson is not illegal but unethical and inappropriate, says Olle Lundin, professor of administrative law.
"From the outside, it looks like a classic example of corruption," he says in the program.
In total, according to Kalla fakta, there were 80,000 copies of the book that were printed by Åkesson's own publisher and then purchased by the subsidiary ADBO Sverige - which sent a large portion to be incinerated when they were not sold.
SD would not say how much the party leader received in compensation.
