In a post on social media, Åkesson writes that he wants to make it clear "once and for all" that he considers the party to be a political opponent and that "the Sweden Democrats do not vote in support of the Liberals."
As recently as last week, he said that it is not the Sweden Democrats' responsibility to save the Liberals.
Åkesson describes the Liberals as having many times been a "brake" on cooperation during the term of office.
The Tidö parties are far behind in the polls, and things are looking particularly bad for the Liberals, who are at risk of leaving parliament.
