With only a couple of weeks left until election day, Jimmie Åkesson delivers his summer speech in his hometown of Sölvesborg. He warns about the red-green side and what four years of Magdalena Andersson's (S) new direction for the country would mean.
"That's the one we voted out four years ago. We don't want to go back there," he says.
But he also criticizes KD leader Ebba Busch. He says she has flirted a lot with the Social Democrats during the election campaign.
Does a vote for KD risk being a vote for Magdalena Andersson? he asks himself.
I think it's a bad strategy for the blue and yellow team.
What is exceptional?
A recent example is a TT interview on Saturday with Ebba Busch, where she is asked if she could under any circumstances support Andersson as prime minister:
War, crisis and exceptional situation. Then I am prepared to take responsibility for Sweden, she says in the interview
Åkesson asks himself what an exceptional situation means.
Does that mean that a government will not get its budget through? Does that mean that she is prepared to negotiate with Magdalena Andersson after the election if the blue-yellow team does not get a majority? says Jimmie Åkesson after the speech.
Don't you trust Ebba Busch?
I have been critical of this strategy for a long time. This flirtation makes the Center Party unnecessarily relevant with the old Annie Lööf dream of the broad middle, and it makes it easier for the Social Democrats, who don't have to talk about the Left Party, he says.
Internal quarrels
What do you and SD gain from it looking like you are not on the same page in the Tidö collaboration?
I believe that one must be able to ask reasonable questions and criticize. Not least Ebba Busch herself has done that, says Åkesson.
But this is primarily about what happens if we do not get a majority in the Riksdag. What is KD prepared to do then? Are they prepared to let Magdalena Andersson go as prime minister? Both I and the voters need to know that now.
Ebba Busch, who is on a tour of the country to raise votes, responds to Åkesson:
"It's clear that I can be trusted. It's well documented both lengthwise and crosswise what we stand for in this election campaign, and I don't know if it's possible that Jimmie Åkesson hasn't heard my speeches now that we've been out on the Busch bus tour here," she says on KD's Facebook page.
