The Sweden Democrats have had the historian of ideas Tony Gustafsson examine the party's early history and later in the week, according to several media outlets, the second part of the party's white paper will be released.

In his speech in Almedalen, party leader Jimmie Åkesson says that he has read parts of the content, and that it has occasionally been depressing reading.

”Obvious antisemitism”

It makes me feel unwell that there was actually a time when Jews in Sweden had entirely rational reasons to view the Sweden Democrats of the past with concern and fear, he says.

According to Åkesson, it emerges from the white paper that there was ”obvious antisemitism among individual Sweden Democrats”.

I regret deeply, and apologize for, that my party at the time could be perceived as threatening and intimidating to Jews in Sweden, he says.

Åkesson also makes a connection to the current situation, where antisemitism, according to him, instead comes from the left.

In the wake of the conflict in the Middle East, open antisemitism is growing in Sweden, he says.

The S-leader as enemy

But the major domestic political battle ahead, according to Jimmie Åkesson, concerns integration policy.

There, we have gotten the bourgeois government parties to join us on a policy based on requirements, where people who have come to Sweden are expected to adapt, are expected to respect the norms and values that our country is built on, he says.

He sees the S-leader Magdalena Andersson as his main enemy in the issue.

We do not want to be sacrificed as the Social Democrats' integration tool on the blood-stained altar of social engineering, says Jimmie Åkesson.

According to the SD-leader, the ”left side, with Magdalena Andersson at the forefront, wants to forcibly integrate the Swedes”.

He tells TT:

I myself do not want to be integrated. And the Swedish people do not want to be integrated and should not need to be integrated either in this failed multicultural project that the old parties have created.
