Djurgården fell behind twice in the final period away against Oskarshamn, but recovered both times. August Berg's 3-3 equalizer came with just 3.16 minutes left. Then Linus Klasen scored the winning goal in overtime, and the two points earned Djurgården the top spot from Södertälje.
Later on Sunday evening, Djurgården received help from arch-rival AIK, who won 4-2 against SSK at Hovet. AIK went from 2-1 to 4-1 thanks to two power-play goals by Gerry Fitzgerald and Oscar Nord in the third period.
Södertälje was also surpassed by Karlskoga, who are now second after their 2-1 win away against Västerås.
One point behind SSK is fourth-placed Björklöven, who ended their four-game winless streak. Östersund was defeated 4-2 in Umeå, where Allsvenskan top scorer Fredrik Forsberg scored his 23rd goal for "Löven" this season.
