Holland himself will come to the festival, which takes place from January 23 to February 1, to receive the award.
"Agnieszka Holland has shown time and again how cinema can be both artistically groundbreaking and deeply rooted in contemporary moral issues," says Pia Lundberg, the festival's artistic director, in a press release.
During the festival, Holland will present his latest film, “Franz K,” which is Poland’s Oscar entry and a take on the life and legacy of Czech writer Franz Kafka. The festival will also screen a retrospective of her most influential films.
