44 Danish flags once again adorn the flower pots outside the US embassy in Copenhagen. That's one for every Dane who lost their lives in the NATO operation in Afghanistan after the terrorist attacks on the US on September 11, 2001.
On Tuesday, the embassy removed the flags, which angered politicians and the war veterans who had put them up. But now the embassy is backing down and has written to Berlingske that the flags will be allowed to remain.
Trump's comments came at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he questioned whether NATO allies would stand by if the US needed them. They landed particularly badly in Denmark, where Trump has made aggressive statements about "taking over" Greenland.
