The meeting will discuss how to break the violence spiral and how the authorities can mobilize together.

"The criminal gangs show total indifference to the public. This is domestic terrorism that we must combat with the collective strength of society", writes Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) in a comment on the violence.

Just in the past 24 hours, several explosions have occurred in Stockholm and Helsingborg. In Lund, a 30-year-old man has been killed in a shootout, and a 17-year-old boy is arrested on suspicion of murder.

On Friday, the Minister of Justice held a meeting with the Police Authority to get a current situation report and an account of the measures being taken in the short and long term.

On average, there has been one explosion per day in January. That development must naturally be broken, said Strömmer to TT after the meeting.

The Council against Organized Crime was established in December 2022. The council includes, in addition to the Minister of Justice, the National Police Commissioner, the Prosecutor General, the Director-General of Customs, and the Directors-General of the Economic Crime Authority and the Tax Agency.
