The Floorball Federation's board of directors (FS) makes it possible for Lund to recruit players between February 1 and February 13.
The extraordinary transfer period applies to all teams in the series.
The idea is to strengthen Lund's chances of completing the season. The club's postponed matches due to the accident are planned to be played in February and March.
"In the middle of a crisis management"
But in IBK Lund, the federation's decision is not appreciated.
They should be able to understand that we have been affected by a special event and are in the middle of a crisis management where we still have players and friends who are seriously injured, says sports manager Christer Sölve to Sydsvenskan.
Sölve continues:
The only thing the federation wants is for us to recruit a team to play out the season, but then it's not our team, he says.
Furthermore, the teams in the top division are allowed to borrow up to two goalkeepers from lower divisions for matches in the top division and in the qualifying games for the Super League. The goalkeepers may represent both clubs.
I don't know what words to use when I'm supposed to describe what I think, but it's a surreal feeling. It feels grotesque. You understand that it's an entirely unreasonable situation when the federation even needs to make special rules for us to have goalkeepers, says Lund's sports manager.
Travel allowance is granted
Furthermore, the Swedish Floorball Federation writes in a press release:
"To further facilitate continued play, the FS has also decided to introduce a travel allowance of 8,000 kronor to the away team for rescheduled weekend matches that are now being played on weekdays where the one-way travel distance exceeds 150 kilometers."
IBK Lund Elite was on its way to an away match against Hässelby when the team bus crashed in poor road conditions south of Nyköping.
Several players were injured.
