There will be no relay or 5,000m for skiing talent Alvar Myhlback at the Olympics. He - along with Anton Grahn and Johanna Hagström - is leaving Italy, the Swedish team management says.

Myhlback has made his Olympic debut, and there will be more opportunities, says the national ski team's manager Anders Byström.

Myhlback became the best Swede in the men's sprint on Tuesday, but is not eligible to start in the team sprint on February 18.

He doesn't really have the results in skating, and there hasn't been any dialogue with Alvar. The focus has been on the sprint, and that applies to Anton to a very high degree, says men's coach Lars Ljungh.

For Johanna Hagström, it ended already in the sprint quarterfinals.

She is not up for any more distance events, so that is the reason, says women's coach Stefan Thomson.

Those competing for the places in the women's team sprint will be the sprint podium: Linn Svahn (gold), Jonna Sundling (silver) and Maja Dahlqvist (bronze).

"We have three who were on the podium yesterday (Tuesday), and that's an argument. It's fierce competition," says Thomson.
