Several Chinese airlines, including state-owned Air China, are raising ticket prices in response to rising energy prices. On flights of up to 800 kilometers, passengers will have to pay a surcharge equivalent to 80 kronor, and around 160 kronor for longer distances.

In conjunction with the surge in oil prices, the price of jet fuel has also risen sharply. Last week, the cost was $197 per barrel, compared with just over $90 a month ago, according to the industry organization IATA.
