Lindsey Vonn was forced to miss the final competition before the Olympics - the super-G in Crans-Montana - after a crash in Friday's downhill race.

"She is not competing today but is preparing for Cortina as usual," trainer Chris Knight said.

In Vonn's absence, Switzerland's Malorie Blanc won - her first World Cup victory. Ten skiers were eliminated, including Germany's Emma Aicher and Italy's Elena Curtoni.

Vonn was taken to a hospital after the downhill crash. Later on Friday, the American announced that she had injured her knee, but that she still had her sights set on the Olympics - where she is a big medal favorite in the alpine speed events.

The 41-year-old has had an injury-filled career, but has still won three Olympic medals, eight World Championship medals, and 84 World Cup victories.

The Olympics begin on February 6th.
