In the first giant slalom competition since her success at the Olympics in Italy, Hector had the chance to show off on home soil. But with only five gates left to pass, the Swede lost her balance and crashed.
The 33-year-old was able to get up from the safety net on her own and then received the cheers of the audience.
Hector tells SVT that there is no danger ahead of Sunday's slalom.
"My neck is a little stiff, but I feel fine. I'm a little grumpy too," she says.
The Swede Estelle Alphand also crashed, although not in the same place.
When 30 skiers had completed their first run, Camille Rast of Switzerland was leading, ahead of Julia Scheib of Austria and Paula Moltzan of the USA. The second run starts at 1 p.m.
