We now have 20 states with Trump abortion bans, including bans that do not make exceptions for rape or incest.
Harris is dressed in black and looks resolute as she delivers a critical speech about her opponent Donald Trump in the popular podcast Call her daddy.
The Vice President dismisses Trump's claims that he wants to be women's "protector" and reminds listeners that the Republican has said that those who have abortions should be punished.
When he was President, he handpicked three members to the Supreme Court to rip up the protection provided by Roe vs Wade, she says.
Roe vs Wade is a Supreme Court ruling from 1973 that established that abortion rights were nationally constitutionally protected. This remained in place until 2022, when the ruling was overturned and the issue was sent back to the states.
Counting hours
Harris's speech is likely well-calibrated, given the millions of women who listen to podcast host Alex Cooper's show about relationships, sexuality, and mental health every week.
Four weeks before the election, the Vice President is still struggling to convince parts of the electorate that they do not know her and do not know what kind of President she would be.
Add to that the fact that the Trump campaign is criticizing her for avoiding the media. The conservative news channel Fox News, which is seen as close to Trump, has a widget on its website that counts the days, hours, and minutes since the Vice President last held a press conference.
Relationship with Netanyahu?
In addition to her podcast appearance, Harris is also appearing on TV shows such as The late show with Stephen Colbert, The view, and the radio program The Howard Stern show this week. She has also been interviewed for the venerable 60 Minutes election special – an appearance Trump has declined.
In 60 Minutes, which airs on Tuesday night Swedish time, Harris is pressed on the White House's support for Israel during the Gaza War and her relationship with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to news site The Hill, which has seen an excerpt. When asked if Netanyahu is a US ally, she responds:
With all respect, a better question is "do we have an important alliance between the American and Israeli peoples?" The answer to that question is yes.
Her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, is also stepping in front of the cameras. He was interviewed by Fox News over the weekend and will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night.
Democrat Kamala Harris currently has the support of 49.1% of Americans, while Republican Donald Trump has 46.9%, according to a compilation of current polls by the political website Real Clear Politics.
The complex US electoral system means that the election will be decided in a few key swing states. Here is how the candidates' support looks in these states:
The number of electoral votes in each swing state is in parentheses, and a minimum of 270 electoral votes is required to win the presidential election.
Pennsylvania (19): Trump: 48.2; Harris: 48.2
Georgia (16): Trump: 49.3; Harris: 47.8
North Carolina (16): Trump: 49; Harris: 48.4
Michigan (15): Harris: 48.3; Trump: 47.6
Arizona (11): Trump: 48.9; Harris: 47.5
Wisconsin (10): Harris: 49; Trump: 48.2
Nevada (6): Harris: 48.6; Trump: 47.5
The presidential election will be held on Tuesday, November 5.
