It was around 9 p.m. that a passenger car collided with a bus on Highway 17 near Landskrona. The car caught fire in the collision.
The driver of the passenger car, a man in his 40s, died in the accident.
There is no one other than the driver of the car suspected of a crime, but we will investigate it further, says police spokesperson Katarina Rusin.
Seven people on the bus were taken to hospital for treatment. One man had serious injuries, according to Region Skåne. The extent of one person's injuries was reported as unclear, while the other five, three of whom were children, had minor injuries.
Both vehicles were seized during the night and will be examined further.
