It's every golfer's dream – the 25-year-old from Eslöv got to experience it on the third round's third hole during the competition The Genesis Invitational in California.
He scored a hole in one.
The Swedish golf pro made an excellent shot and from the tee, he could see how the ball rolled into the hole. Åberg raised his arms in the air and flashed a broad smile as he celebrated with his caddie.
It was a really cool moment. I've never made a hole in one in tournament play before, so this was really the first time, he said to pgatour.com after his successful shot.
The feat was also rewarded with approximately 110,000 kronor, to be donated to charitable causes.
The Swede followed up the successful shot with four birdies and four bogeys and finished the round at 70 strokes, two under par.
Going into the fourth and final round, he is two strokes behind Patrick Rodgers and one stroke behind Denny McCarthy, both from the USA.
