Ludvig Åberg seemed to be having a nice Saturday during the third round of the major rehearsal Scottish Open outside Edinburgh. But a nightmare hole left the Swede with a bitter aftertaste.

After eleven holes, the Swede had managed four birdies and was involved in the absolute top struggle.

But then on the next three holes, the Swedish superstar made two bogeys and on the 13th hole a triple bogey.

Åberg went around on 71 strokes – one over par – and is found in a shared seventh place. He thus lost four places from the previous day and is now at a total of seven under par.

The American Chris Gotterup and the Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy are leading on a total of eleven strokes under par.

The best Swede after Åberg is Sebastian Söderberg (–3) in a shared 35th place.

During Sunday's final round, Åberg continues to work on his form ahead of next week's British Open in Portrush in Northern Ireland.
