The statistics indicate an upward trend: in 2024 there were 207 cases. So far this year there have been 467.
The most suspensions due to AI cheating, 77, have been made at Stockholm University. This may be partly due to the fact that it is Sweden's largest higher education institution for undergraduate and graduate education, according to the chairman of the disciplinary committee there, and partly to active work to make teachers aware of the risk of AI cheating.
At 27 of the 32 universities and colleges that responded to the newspaper's questions, examination methods have changed to some extent to reduce the scope for cheating with the help of AI.
