In 1964, a group of filmmakers gathered some English seven-year-olds from different social classes and asked them about their lives. The result was a television film that was followed up in 1970 with the same 14 children.
Director Michael Apted continued to follow them every seven years until 2019, producing a series of films that received several awards. When Apted died in 2021, it was uncertain whether there would be more films, but now a final part is coming, writes The Guardian.
Director Asif Kapadia, who has made the documentaries "Senna", "Amy" and the soon-to-be-released "Kenny Dalglish", is filming the final part, which will be shown on British television later this year - the same year that "the children" turn 70.
