Over 600 malnourished children in Nigeria have died in the last six months due to inadequate care when aid has been withdrawn, according to Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
The organization describes the situation in the northern part of the country as an "alarming malnutrition crisis".
Just between January and July, cases of the most severe and deadliest form of malnutrition increased by 208 percent, compared to the same period last year.
Major cuts in aid from outside, including the American aid agency USAID, in combination with higher living costs and an increase in jihadist attacks, have created a serious situation in northern Nigeria.
