The authority has tightened supervision of accommodations between September 2024 and February 2026. In 39 of them, the deficiencies have been so serious that the authority has issued bans, temporary bans, or revoked their permits.

These include inappropriate representatives, serious misconduct involving threats and violence, and inadequate record checks of personnel.

"Children and young people who are placed in HVB and supported housing are in a particularly vulnerable situation. Our supervision shows that there are actors who lack both the ability and intention to conduct safe and secure activities. They should not remain in care," says Andreas Larsson, head of department at Ivo, in a press release.
