Hamas released during Saturday a picture of Matan Zangauker next to what appears to be a stand with intravenous drip. The terrorist-stamped movement claims that Israel's military (IDF) is approaching the place where he is being held captive and threatens that he will not survive a rescue attempt.

"He will not return alive", it is written on the picture, reports The Jerusalem Post.

IDF says it has no activity in the area where Zangauker is believed to be.

Shot at aid center

According to the Hamas-controlled civil defense in Gaza, at least 36 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Saturday.

Six of them are said to have been shot dead in the morning near one of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation's (GHF) distribution centers for emergency aid in Rafah. Several people were also injured in the incident, according to a spokesperson for the civil defense.

The Israeli military tells AFP that it has fired "warning shots" at people who moved in a way that "threatened the soldiers".

A witness tells the news agency that the soldiers opened fire as soon as people started walking towards the aid center, first in the air and then at civilians.

Stop for emergency aid

On Friday, the distribution of emergency aid at GHF's emergency centers was paused due to congestion. In a new statement on Saturday, the organization states that the centers are closed again, this time due to direct threats against its staff from Hamas.

A spokesperson for Hamas denies the allegations, writes Haaretz.
