The Italian world No. 1 won 6-2, 6-4 against Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals on clay in Rome. This means that Sinner has now won 32 consecutive matches in Masters 1000 events, the biggest tournaments outside the Grand Slams.
Sinner now holds the record outright, having previously shared it with Novak Djokovic, who reached 31 consecutive victories in 2011.
