Russia has established several positions in and around the strategically important city and, according to information from two Ukrainian officers, will control the airspace.
The city has been the subject of intense fighting and, according to Pravda, Russia now has 250 soldiers inside the Ukrainian city, where fierce fighting is said to be raging.
The officers state that Russia has neutralized Ukrainian drone operators and shelled artillery and anti-tank units within the city.
The situation for the Ukrainian units in Pokrovsk has deteriorated over several months and is now critical. The units that remain risk being locked in without the possibility of supplying weapons and provisions, writes Pravda.
