The verdict concerns three explosions in Hässelby, Linköping, and Fullerö over four days in September 2023. All the bombs caused extensive damage to residential buildings and several people were injured.

In the Fullerö explosion outside Uppsala on September 28, where a microwave oven filled with 13 kilos of dynamite caused a massive explosion, a 24-year-old woman was so severely injured that she died. The attack was directed at the neighboring house where people with family ties to Foxtrot leader Rawa Majid lived. However, the residence was empty as they had moved due to threats.

A 23-year-old man who placed the bombs in all three explosions is sentenced to life imprisonment in the Svea Court of Appeal. The sentence from Uppsala District Court is thus upheld.

Another 23-year-old man who was involved in the explosions in Hässelby and Linköping, and who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the district court, has his sentence reduced to 18 years.

The sentences for two other individuals involved, the man who manufactured the three bombs and the man who acted as a driver in the Fullerö explosion, are simultaneously increased to just under 12 and 8 years' imprisonment, respectively.

"The prosecutors' investigation in the case has been thorough. The crimes in question have been very serious. This is also reflected in the sentences, which are harsher than what is usually handed down for explosions," says Court of Appeal Judge Therese Linderoth in a comment.

All three explosions are linked to the internal conflict within the Foxtrot network that broke out in 2023, and were directed against individuals who were remotely connected to Rawa Majid's side.

September 25, 2023: A suspected pressure cooker bomb detonates in a stairwell of a multi-family house in Hässelby. Several people are injured in the explosion, and the building suffers extensive structural damage.

September 26, 2023: A confirmed pressure cooker bomb explodes in a stairwell of a multi-family house in Ekholmen, Linköping. Two people are injured in the explosion, and the residence suffers extensive damage.

September 28, 2023: A bomb consisting of a microwave oven filled with approximately 13 kilos of dynamite detonates in a villa area in Fullerö outside Uppsala. The bomb is placed between two villas, and a 24-year-old woman who is sleeping on the lower floor of one of the houses suffers such severe injuries that she dies. The family living in the other house escapes without physical harm.
