The suspects are believed to have controlled young perpetrators to commit crimes for criminal networks in Stockholm and Södertälje between May and September last year, according to the indictment.
The 22-year-old is being prosecuted for, among other things, attempted murder, preparation for murder, serious weapons offenses, several cases of involving minors in crime, serious public endangerment and several cases of incitement to serious crimes.
Several perpetrators and assistants in the cases have already been convicted.
"I mean that the investigation shows that children have been recruited and used as part of the gang criminal activity. They have been used for various types of 'errand jobs' but also as perpetrators of serious violent crimes", says public prosecutor Ida Arnell in a press release.
When a teenager last summer threw a hand grenade into a grocery store in Södertälje where several people were present, the now prosecuted 22-year-old was in his headphones to control the act, according to the prosecutor.
"This is a recurring modus operandi in the prosecuted actions. I mean that the 22-year-old has controlled the perpetrator. It has only been a matter of pure luck that no one died on the occasion and I believe that he is to be considered as the perpetrator", says Ida Arnell.
The trial begins on October 16.
