The discussions on how different countries could contribute are in an "early stage", but "the interest is positive", according to the source.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer presented the idea of a "coalition of willing countries" on Sunday – in connection with the extraordinary crisis meeting in London.
Both Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron have said they are willing to send soldiers to Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement.
