He won with grilled pluma, mango harissa and chive mayonnaise. For dessert, it was Grandma's crème brûlée - a lot of his food inspiration comes from her.

"I have very fond food memories from my grandmother. Since then, I've watched a lot of YouTube, and have always liked standing in the kitchen more than sitting at the dining table," says Jacob Jansson.

He celebrates the victory and the graduation on the same intense day. His parents cheered him on in the final with signs that read "Little Turbo," an old nickname from when he was little.

I was energetic and ran around and climbed. And I think that energy and the drive to do everything and to do a lot remain.

Moving to Stockholm

He was already stuffing sausages when he was five years old, but his intense interest in food awakened at the age of 12–13. The jury repeatedly praised him for his fast learning curve, and he has learned "an incredible number of things."

A common thing is not to overcomplicate things and to really think through what you do; everything should have a purpose.

Now Jacob Jansson dreams of traveling with some of the money he won, the part that doesn't end up in funds. This summer he's also moving to Stockholm, where he hopes to work at Lilla Ego, jury member Tom Sjöstedt's restaurant.

There's something nice and valuable about serving a three-course meal that leaves you feeling really full. They do that really well. And I love Kent too. I'll do everything I can to work there this fall.

Wants to learn

He likes "Nordic cuisine", "simple and beautiful". In the future, Jacob Jansson plans to work at several different restaurants.

I still have a lot to learn. I don't have much experience and want to pick up as much as possible.
