13 people have died and around 20 have been injured in a bus accident in Sacha in northeastern Russia. The bus, which was transporting miners, drove off the road and plunged about 25 meters down into a ravine, according to local authorities.
Pictures from the scene show a overturned bus next to a watercourse. The police have launched an investigation into reckless driving.
Work accidents are common in Russia and investigators often point to inadequate safety and lack of controls.
Local authorities have declared a day of mourning on Tuesday.
