Bokenäs Old Church stands on an old sacrificial site in Bohuslän. A rock with offering pits lies outside the cemetery wall. The Church of Sweden’s parish page says the church was probably built before 1100 and describes it as the best-preserved medieval church in Bohuslän in its original condition. Wikidata lists it as heritage-listed. Its address is Bokenäs gamla kyrka 101, 45197 Uddevalla.
The church is built of grey stone and has a Romanesque layout, with a nave, choir and semicircular apse. The nave walls are 180 centimetres thick. A red-painted tower, built in the 18th century, has a porch on its ground floor.
Inside, the walls are whitewashed. The doors of the enclosed pews have different painted marble and flower designs by J H Dieden. Dieden also painted the barrel vault and the gallery front, where Jesus and the twelve apostles appear. The chancel arch remains in its original condition. The altarpiece dates from the 17th century; the altar, baptismal font and pulpit are from the 1770s. The church page also points to films of the church.
