Skutskärs kyrka stands in a green area on a rise at the northern edge of Skutskär, near the delta of the Dalälven river. The church is also called St John’s Church. Its neo-Gothic design includes arched windows, and its interior is painted with flowers and plants.

The church was built for Skutskär, a community that grew around a sawmill established in the 1870s. Before the church was built, worship services took place in other buildings. The church was inspected on 22 June 1906 and inaugurated on Midsummer Day by Archbishop Johan August Ekman. It was named for John the Baptist, whose day falls on Midsummer Day. The building burned down to its foundations in 1921 and was rebuilt that autumn.

Inside, the baptismal font dates from 1921 and is made of Gotland sandstone. The copper altar crucifix was made by artist Bengt Härdelin. The balcony organ is described as powerful. The church was restored in 1978, and summer concerts are listed among its activities. The material gives no ticket price or visiting hours, so check locally before planning a visit.
